So, I haven't posted in ages... >.> don't judge me. I have been sick, tired and overall letting one of the seven deadly sins kick my butt. Sloth. (don't judge me on tat last sentence either. I find that sloth can be used in all forms making the singular word a sentence. "Man look at that sloth!" ~Noun. "You are so slothy." ~Adjective. "I slothed on that paper." ~Verb.)
Anyways, I have been doing other things that have prevented me from blogging. Like being a sloth. No, really though, I have been working on my debate stuff... I have to create a case from nothing and back files for negative. If you have no clue what that means, which most won't, just know that it requires many, MANY, hours of tedious work reading and rereading article of all kinds, copying them and creating citations for ALL of the article I copy from. You thought you hated your life when you had to create a five source Works Cited page for a paper you wrote. Trying doing 10 times that every day for the rest of the school year. ITS NOT FUN! However, I have fun winning so I will do it. Long story short, I haven't been entirely a sloth, but there are somethings I could be spending more time on... this leads me to my next "rule" for college! (I put quotations around that because really, in college, there are no rules..."
TIME ALLOCATION:
I suck at this. You should let your judgement on me come through harshly because, honestly, I do really, really suck at time management. Learn from my mistakes before you make them yourselves... Here just as an example I will give you an hour by hour lay out of my last friday. (this is really painful for me as I was telling myself al day to get up and do something... Buuttt yea... I didn't do a darn thing.)
Friday:
8:45 Roll out of bed for my class at nine. I jump up, throw clothes on and practically run to class and make it with a minute to spare. I did not sleep through my alarm... I just chose not to get up when it went off and snoozed like a bazillion times.
9:50 Class is out thank goodness, now I have to go and pic up a camera for my next class. The teacher says "come back in an hour I have a class right now."So, I choose the responsible thing to do which is go to the cafeteria and eat for 20 minutes. I still had time left over so I thought I would take a nap. So, I walked back to the Debate squad room and fell asleep in the floor. (I had stayed up late the night before watching Being Human.)
10:55 I had set an alarm for this time reminding me to go get a camera, slept through it... again...
11:20 I finally peel myself off of the floor and haul myself up a half flight of stairs to check out my camera.
11:30 Drive back home and go right back to sleep for a few hours.
2:30 wake up and instead of doing my homework that is due monday, play games on the computer.
3:45 decide I am hungry again and eat
4:30 email back my future employer to set up times to fill out paper work
5:00 back to gaming
7:00 reply to an email telling a high school debate coach that I would go to her debate tournament with her saturday morning at 6:00 am.
7:10 promptly regretted saying I would voluntarily waking up at 5:30.
7:15 realizes that the kids on the team need me and tell myself I really want to help them!
7:30 goes and sits down infront of the TV and watches more Being Human.
1:30 finally lays down to sleep.
5:30 am. Regrets not going to sleep earlier... >.>
Don't let sloth kick your butt. Get up, go to class, do your homework, and get stuff done. End of story.
College... the ups and downs.
I am a sophomore at Kansas Wesleyan University in a class called media production. These blog posts will be short, simple, hopefully humorous and highly entertaining. Wether you are laughing at my failures, (which happen often) or my fantastic wit,I guarantee to keep you laughing.

So, this is me... the cool kid in the class. I am also the one (if you live on campus, and give a care as to who the crazy chick was with a popsicle hanging out of her mouth driving around in circles looking for a parking spot blaring "Back in the Saddle" by Aerosmith was...) who FINALLY found a spot to park my car clear across campus and was five minutes late to class. Just a day in the life. Not to mention my popsicle was mostly melted when I made it inside as its like 98 degrees outside.... Bleh.

Not Gonna lie... I threw this together in about 10 mins... :) Good learning experience though! Check out Garage band! (you can make your own rap beats rather than stealing them! ;) )

Post number one. Breaking the rules. All of them.
RULE NUMBER ONE DO NOT DOWNLOAD ILLEGAL CONTENT.
This includes but is not limited to:
-Music (no stealing "beats" from your favorite rapper so you can do your best free style that still stinks... might as well create your own cruddy beat and add your cruddy rap to it... maybe it will stink so much someone will pity like you.)
-Books (read them, write them, don't throw them on a copy machine and use the pages as your own.)
-Icons (just because you throw something in photoshop or indesign and change its color doesn't mean it doesn't still represent the original company)
-Papers (its called plagiarism... usually gets you failed)
-Photos (including those of cats)
-Ideas (yes I mean ideas... in this day and age everything you think is immediately copyrighted. well not everything.. let me define that a little better... Keep scrolling.)
Anyways, the copyrighting of ideas is called Intellectual Property Rights. Here is the Government Definition.

Anyways, the copyrighting of ideas is called Intellectual Property Rights. Here is the Government Definition.
Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind: inventions, literary and artistic works, and symbols, names, images, and designs used in commerce.
IP is divided into two categories: Industrial property, which includes inventions (patents), trademarks, industrial designs, and geographic indications of source; and Copyright, which includes literary and artistic works such as novels, poems and plays, films, musical works, artistic works such as drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures, and architectural designs. Rights related to copyright include those of performing artists in their performances, producers of phonograms in their recordings, and those of broadcasters in their radio and television programs. For an introduction to IP for non-specialists, refer to:
- WIPO Intellectual Property Handbook (a comprehensive introduction to the policy, law and use of IP)
- Understanding Copyright and Related Rights
- Understanding Industrial Property
The innovations and creative expressions of indigenous and local communities are also IP, yet because they are “traditional” they may not be fully protected by existing IP systems. Access to, and equitable benefit-sharing in, genetic resources also raise IP questions. Normative and capacity-building programs are underway at WIPO to develop balanced and appropriate legal and practical responses to these issues. For more information, refer to:
So, as long as your ideas have not become a social norm or a cult of your followers have not already accomplished or done what you do religiously. You have a right to your thoughts.
(P.s. I am a debater so I underline and bold the important sh.. stuff.)
Now, when I tell you to not break the rules, I mean don't do it the wrong way. You see here, I am a debater, as mentioned about 5 seconds ago. You have no clue how many times I have thrown a book on a copy machine. HOWEVER I do this with reason. I give credit where do and never EVER read a part of a book with out the full citation. If you plan on breaking these rules, don't get caught. And if someone around you thinks about something cool before you, make them tell you while you are alone then run around campus like a maniac telling everyone it was your idea. When they take you to court you will have all of the witnesses saying you told them your ideas first! However, if you are as unlucky as me they will have already told a thousand people and when you claim it everyone will call you out and you will look like a jerk.
All in all. Don't copy and paste stuff. Unless you are good at it.
P.s.- Clearly this isn't ALL of the rules... Ill post more later... Class is over and I am feeling lazy. Pssh... Typical College Student.
